Jamie Martin

Hello! I am Jamie Martin, and I am a first/second grade teacher at Ann Arbor Open. I love teaching at our school and I love working with my grade level team- Luke, Stella Joe and Sarah. We’re a great team together!  In my class I place a strong emphasis on the whole child (academics, social emotional needs) as well as learning our place within the community setting, thinking about how our actions impact others and learning how to solve conflicts constructively- all skills that are as important as academics.                                                                              

I received my B.S. in Elementary Education with a science major and Early Childhood Endorsement from Eastern Michigan. I began my career in Ann Arbor teaching preschool and kindergarten and started teaching at Ann Arbor Open when my three children got into our school. I taught long term for years and was hired full time in 2008 at A2O.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  

I love to spend time outside: walking, running, riding my bike, traveling, camping and spending time with family and friends. I also love traveling in the U.P. and Michigan!
